Role Overview
The Lead Installation Technician is responsible for assisting with installation projects, training customers post-installation, and supporting them as they use the hardware. The primary duties and responsibilities for this role include:
Key Responsibilities
Installation
- Perform on-site technical process review before installation to design training guides for churches/companies.
- Review system designs and Statements of Work (SOWs) for upcoming projects and prepare accordingly.
- Provide preliminary programming for system components, specifically Q-SYS and IP products.
- Assist with cable scheduling, cable path planning, and installation tasks.
- Possesses strong knowledge and hands-on experience in safely hanging and rigging speakers, projectors, LED & projection screens, displays and other AV equipment, ensuring secure installations that meet industry standards and client expectations.
- Proficient in the termination of low-voltage cabling, including coaxial, network, audio, and speaker cables, with expertise in using BNC, XLR, and RJ45 connectors to ensure reliable, high-quality connections.
Q-SYS Design
- Develop and review Q-SYS system designs.
- Ensure proper integration of Q-SYS components into overall system design.
Design & Review
- Conduct thorough reviews of system designs to ensure accuracy and functionality.
- Prepare necessary documentation and configurations based on design reviews.
Schematics & Cable Scheduling
- Create detailed schematics and cable schedules for each project.
- Ensure accurate documentation of cable paths and connections.
Training
- Provide comprehensive training to customers on installed systems.
- Create checklists and troubleshooting documentation for volunteers to minimize future service calls.
- Perform on-site assistance and training as needed.
Customer Support
- Respond to customer phone calls on the same day, if possible.
- Respond to company or customer emails within 24 hours of receiving them.
- Provide support on complex service calls as needed by support technicians.
Post-Installation Duties
- After installation, create schematics and final cable schedules for customers.
- Ensure all documentation is accurate and provided to the customer.

- Set monthly and yearly goals for personal and job growth.
- Continuously seek opportunities for improvement and professional development.
Additional Responsibilities
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Project Manager and Owner of MediaNet AV.
Reporting Structure
Reports directly to the Project Manager.

- Support the creation of final schematics and documentation.
- Ensure documentation provided to customers is complete and accurate.
